Panama Banco Central de Emission 1 Balboa 1941 Pick 22a. A rare note that was legal tender in Panama only from October 2 to October 9, 1941. The anti-American President Dr. Arnulfo Arias took a trip to Cuba on October 9th to visit his paramour. This trip was not authorized by the National Assembly and the National Assembly ousted Dr. Arias from power. All notes that had not been issued during the previous week would have an upcoming engagement with the incinerator. At PCGS Very Fine 35, this is the nicest third party graded example that we have auctioned. We had a PMG VF 35 Net Pick 22a go for $1057.50 in January 2017.
