1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, Reversed N, VF20 PCGS. Noe-9, W-750, Salmon 7a-Diii, R.6. 70.52 gn. No Pellets at Trunk. The first N in ENGLAND is reversed. This is a well-centered Pine Tree shilling of tremendous historical and numismatic importance, representing the earlier style produced from about 1667 to 1675 with a rocker press and thin, broad planchets. Even, lavender-gray patina covers each side. A lamination occurs above the A in MASATHUSETS, and two vertical pinscratches appear left of the E. All legends are clear, though dentilation is missing around the lower borders.
