EASTERN EUROPE, Lower Danube area. Imitation of Augustus, after 11/10 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19mm, 3.81 g 1), copying a denarius of Augustus from Lugdunum. AVG - DIVI Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. IMI XII Bull butting to right. Cf. BMC 476 and RIC 178a for the original type. Toned. A fascinating curiosity, probably made in the Dacian area. Good very fine.
