CANDRA: Prthvicandra, ca. 569-576, AR 64 ratti (7.79g), Mitch-98:192, Mahlo-38 (same reverse die), recumbent humped bull left // srivatsa (also called axial pole in temple), superb example of an extremely rare type, of which Mahlo knew of just a single specimen, EF, RRR, ex Hans Mondorf Collection. The ruler's dates cited in Mitchiner are based on the reign's lengths inscribed on the stele found at Mruak-U in the Arakan region. Mahlo suggests that Mitchiner's dates are about 65 years too early.
