ROMAN REPUBLIC:LOT of 18 Republican silver denarii, nice starter set of all different types some serrated, average circulated condition, retail value $1000, lot of 18 coins. Serrated denarii, also called serrati, which featured about 20 notched chisel marks on the edge, were produced to demonstrate the integrity of the coin. This effort was in vain, as examples of fourrée serrati attest.
