38 mm; 41.43 gms. Grove-822. From a mintage of only 1,019 pieces struck in gold. Coat of arms of Durango with double legend around; Reverse: Aztec warrior, Franciscan friar and Spanish conquistador in foreground with view of El Cerro de Mercado in background. Sharply struck as would be expected being a product of the Mexico City mint. Light tone slightly subduing the flashy proof-like surfaces. NGC MS-65.
