1869 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. Rick Snow explains that while the 1869 is much scarcer overall than the Indian Head cents of 1866 to 1868, examples are more available in Mint State than their earlier counterparts. In this grade, however, they are very scarce and rarely offered finer. This lustrous Gem is well-struck with attractive copper-orange and golden-brown color. PCGS shows merely eight Red and Brown examples graded higher (4/17).
