1944-D/S 1C FS-511 MS65 Red PCGS. This is the rarer and more desirable of the two 1944-D/S varieties. The top of an underlying S is apparent above the primary D. Examples are very scarce in MS65 Red and rarely encountered in higher grades. Vibrant luster blends with fiery copper-orange color. Accents of blue and lilac appear sporadically. Well-struck with a few scattered flecks. Population: 49 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red, 13 finer (4/17).
