Large Cents
1793 1C Chain, AMERI., S-1, B-1, R.4 -- Rim Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Good Details. Our nation's first regular issue copper coin was the Chain cent, struck in March 1793, and the first of five varieties was the Chain AMERI. cent, known as S-1 and B-1. This piece has minor rim damage and slight roughness on its dark brown surfaces. The obverse has a full date and LIBERTY with a partially outlined bust. The reverse has a bold chain as usual, with a complete denomination, and partial legend. A pleasing example, nonetheless, and worthy of strong bidding competition. Our EAC grade Fair 2.
