1804 10C 13 Stars Reverse, JR-1, R.5 -- Questionable Color -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. Both varieties of the 1804 Draped Bust dime are rare in all grades, and JR-1 is arguably the scarcer die pairing in high grade. No Mint State examples of the 13 Stars Reverse variety are known. PCGS' only complaint regarding this XF-level example is the deep gunmetal-gray toning that overlays rich olive-green and gold undertones. Other than a couple of old, hair-thin scratches on the obverse we find no additional surface impairments. The central design elements are well-detailed and there is little wear. The reverse rim is complete, but the obverse dentils grow weak along the left-hand edge.
