Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1923-S 50C MS65 PCGS. From a mintage of 2.1 million pieces, the 1923-S was the only Walking Liberty half dollar struck at any U.S. Mint from 1922 through 1926. Commercial demand over that extended period ensured that the coins circulated heavily and the 1923-S is much more elusive in high grade than its reported mintage would suggest. This impressive Gem exhibits well-detailed design elements, with a touch of the usual softness on the central obverse, bur unusually sharp definition on the reverse. The well-preserved surfaces radiate vibrant mint luster and show a few hints of golden-tan toning. Overall eye appeal is outstanding. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 45 in 65 (5 in 65+), 9 finer (4/17).
