Proof Morgan Dollars
1903 $1 PR67 PCGS. The Philadelphia Mint switched to an all-brilliant finish for proof coins in 1902, polishing the recessed areas of the dies to minimize mint frost and contrast, and the new finish was continued in following years. Only 755 proof Morgan dollars were struck in 1903, produced in quarterly deliveries throughout the year. The present coin is a delightful Superb Gem, with razor-sharp definition on all design elements and deeply reflective fields. The impeccably preserved surfaces are blanketed in pale shades of greenish-gold toning. This coin should find a home in a fine collection or Registry Set of proof Morgan dollars.
