Liberty Double Eagles
1890-CC $20 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1-A. This attractive Choice AU specimen was struck from a late state of the dies and shows some missing detail in the eagle's tail feathers, due to lapping. The design elements were strongly impressed, however, and just a touch of actual wear is evident on the high points. The lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces retain surprising amounts of original mint luster.
