Bust Half Dollars
1827 50C Square Base 2, O-120a, R.3, AU58 PCGS. A segmented die crack above UNITED STATES is characteristic of the late O-120a die state. Multiple horizontal lines beneath the bust are the unmistakable pick-up points for the variety in both its early and late die states. This is an essentially brilliant, near-Mint example with hints of pale, golden-gray patina over unmarked surfaces with nearly full mint luster. Crisply struck except at stars 6 through 13, which are seemingly always flat for the variety.
