Seated Half Dollars
1856-O 50C WB-101, Die Pair 2, R.4, MS63+ PCGS. Bright silver luster shines through a mottled powder-gray patina on the obverse, while the reverse displays steel-blue toning at the rims and rose-gray shades at the center. A few light field abrasions in the obverse fields are hidden in the toning. The strike is pinpoint-sharp on both sides of this attractive, high-end Select Uncirculated example. A very scarce variety from a high-mintage New Orleans issue with more than 2.6 million pieces produced. Population: 2 in 63+, 68 finer (4/17).
