Seated Half Dollars
1861-O 50C WB-101, Die Pair 6, R.3, MS62 PCGS. The obverse die was employed by the State of Louisiana (first use) and the Confederacy (second use). Strong dentils suggest an early use of the die, while a lump on the upright of R in AMERICA is also suggestive of an early die state for the marriage. Pale golden-gray color harbors scattered deep olive and grayish-blue accents. The strike is uniformly sharp on both sides. Housed in a prior generation green label holder. Population (all varieties): 43 in 62, 84 finer (4/17).
