1863 2C Two Cents, Judd-305, Pollock-370, R.4, PR63 Brown PCGS. The obverse displays a portrait of Washington facing right, GOD AND OUR COUNTRY around, date and two stars below. The reverse expresses the denomination 2 CENTS within a wheat wreath, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around. CENTS is curved dramatically. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Examples are known with thin and thick planchets. This appears to be a thick planchet variant. Examples were also struck in copper-nickel, oroide, and aluminum. Lovely olive-brown surfaces exhibit traces of pale blue toning with golden-tan splashes on the obverse.
