1869 10C Ten Cents, Judd-715, Pollock-794, R.7, PR61 Red and Brown PCGS. This is the regular issue design of the Seated Liberty dime obverse, except with no date. The composition is expressed on the reverse as SIL. 9 / NIC. 1 with the date below. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This design was also produced in a nickel composition. Copper strikings are roughly half as scarce as those in nickel with only a half dozen known. Obviously cleaned, the surfaces are bright red with slightly subdued variations in hue.
