Liberty Quarter Eagles
1847-C $2 1/2 VF35 PCGS. Variety 1. The 1847 Mexican-American War may be responsible for an increase in gold coin mintages that year. Nonetheless, the 1847-C quarter eagle has a production of only about one-fourth of its half-eagle counterpart, which in turn has a production of less than one-tenth of the 1847 eagle. This nicely defined sea-green representative lacks noticeable marks and is evenly microgranular.
