Liberty Quarter Eagles
1848-D $2 1/2 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. Unc Details. Variety 10-N. While relatively available in lower grades, the 1848-D is quite scarce in better condition, especially Uncirculated grades. The mintage was relatively small with only 13,771 pieces struck, but there are an estimated 275-325 survivors in all grades. This example was lightly cleaned with the resultant hairlines barely visible over each side. Light yellow-gold color is seen throughout.
