1860 $2 1/2 New Reverse, Type Two, MS63 PCGS. The long, slender arrowheads are well separated on the Type Two reverse hub, also known as the New Reverse. 1859 through 1861 were the transitional years at the Philadelphia Mint. The Type One or Old Reverse is scarcer in all three of those years, so the demand from date collectors is for this New Reverse issue. This Select Mint State piece has frosty and fully lustrous yellow-gold surfaces with minimal marks and maximum eye appeal. Population: 8 in 63, 25 finer (5/17).
