Proof Liberty Quarter Eagles
1887 $2 1/2 -- Cleaned -- ANACS. Proof, AU50 Details. Light yellow-gold, somewhat hairlined surfaces are still attractive, but there are contact marks that to us suggest this piece may have seen some light circulation. It was not unheard of for proof gold pieces of this period to be spent, particularly during the hard economic times of the mid-1890s. This coin retains the entirety of its proof sharpness.
