Random die lines inside the lower loop of the 3, and below that digit, have been categorized as a "3 over 2," but careful examination leads to the conclusion that this is not an actual overdate. For that reason, PCGS describes this as an 1853/'2' with the 2 in quotes. Noticeable luster remains in the protected areas on both sides of this splendid light yellow example.
