Thailand Rama V RS127 medal 71mm diameter in copper by Henri-Auguste Patey weight 142.92 grammes, About UNC in the brown Monnaie de Paris box of issue. Similar in style to the uniformed portrait left of Rama V or Erawan series as used on the rare One Baht silver issue, which is ranked as one of the classic rarities for machine struck Thai coinage. The One Baht series was ordered to be struck at the Paris Mint by Rama V during his trip to Europe with the intention of producing the entire series for circulation. However, Rama V died before the entirety of the plan could be put into action. Although the circulation Baht has an official mintage of 1,037,000 pieces, it is clear that most of that was not released for circulation and instead melted down, therefore the portrait on this medal only otherwise available on the extremely rare One Baht
