Herennia Etruscilla. ; Herennia Etruscilla; Antiochia ad Maeandrum, Caria, AE 29.5, 9.79g. RPC-769 (2 spec.), pl. 50 (same dies). Obv: EPENIA AITPVCKI??A CEB Bust draped r. wearing stephane, with early smooth hairdo. Rx: ANTI -oX - EON Aphrodite standing front, head r., holding out uncertain object (apple?) with r. arm as though about to drop it, l. hand on hip; to r., winged Cupid standing l. reaching out to grasp Aphrodite's drapery. Acquired from Harlan Berk, 27 April 2012. Very rare: only two specimens known to RPC online, in Paris and SNG Leypold, both from the same dies as ours. This is the only obverse die listed by RPC for Etruscilla at Antiochia ad Maeandrum, but the use of the same die for Anineta, RPC-664, pl. 42, seems to require confirmation: the only specimen known looks tooled and its reverse type and legend might be remade, perhaps from RPC-768 of Antiochia.
