Trajan Decius. AE 22; Trajan Decius; 249-251 AD, Perga, Pamphylia, AE 22, 7.09g. RPC-temp. 1060 (1 spec.), pl. 75 (same dies). Obv: [?? ?] G? ?? ?? ??? ?????? - ??.? Bust radiate, draped, cuirassed r. Rx: ?EPGA - I - ON Nude Pan, with horns and furry upper legs, seated l. on rock, raising r. hand before chin, and holding pedum in l. hand. Ex Christian Blom List 44, November 1968, no. 393. From the same dies as the previously unique Imhoof-Blumer specimen in Berlin that is described and illustrated by RPC, and in better condition. RPC wrongly says that Pan is "resting l. arm on syrinx"; on our specimen the hooked top of his pedum is clearly visible above his l. shoulder. The same obverse die was also used for RPC-1099, 1101, and 1103.
