Kyoho gold Koban (1 Ryo) ND (1714-1736) Choice XF, Edo mint, Fr-12, JNDA 09-17, Hartill-8.20, 69x38mm, 17.85g. The obverse has a fan-shaped Kiri crest at the top, with the characters for Ichi Ryo directly below in a square panel. Below is a square panel with the characters for Mitsutsugu (the mint official) and his signature. There is no era character on the reverse, but a few light chopmarks are noted. A well-above-average example of this rare Koban issue. Included is what appears to be the original paper wrapper from the mint.
