KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.36 g, 5 h), Lysimacheia, circa 297/6-282/1. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in right hand and leaning with left arm on shield; behind, transverse spear; to inner left, lion's head left; on throne, lying Φ. Müller 51. Thompson 16. Struck on a broad flan and with a particularly charming lion's head on the reverse. Minor die breaks and some roughness from removed horn silver on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
