Domitian, as Caesar, 69-81. As (Orichalcum, 24 mm, 6.90 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in Asia Minor, 77-78. CAESAR DOMITIANVS AVG F Laureate head of Domitian to right. Rev. COS V PRINCEPS IVVENTVT / S C Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, wings spread, head right. RIC 1518 (R2). RPC II 1485 corr. (2 specimens, 'IVVENTV' on reverse). Extremely rare, possibly the third example known, and much better than the RPC plate coin. Minor deposits and cleaning scratches, otherwise, very fine.
