KINGS OF PONTOS. Mithradates VI Eupator, Circa 120-63 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.03 g, 12 h), in the name and types of Alexander III 'the Great' , Odessos, ca 80-72/1 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ / [ΟΔΗ] Zeus seated to left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; below the hand holding the eagle, ΛΑ monogram. Price 1191(same dies). Callataÿ D2/R2. Well struck and beautful. Slightly doublestuck obverse and reverse slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.
