PERSIA, Alexandrine Empire. temp. Mazakes – Bleitor. Satraps of Mesopotamia, circa 331-316 BC. AR Tetradrachm (21mm, 16.44 g, 6h). Imitating Athens. Helmeted head of Athena right, with profile eye / Owl standing right, head facing; [olive sprig] and crescent to left, Δ with "mark" above to right; all within incuse circle. Van Alfen, Mechanisms, Group III.E; BMC Attica 270; MIG Type 13d; SNG Copenhagen 110; CNG 105, lot 443. Fine, dark find patina, some roughness. Very rare.
