Lincoln Cents
1913-D 1C MS66 Red NGC. The 1913-D cent is a fairly well-produced issue -- much more so than the 1911-D, for example, although there are exceptions. This piece is sharply defined and well-preserved throughout. The bright brick-red surfaces show a bit of hazel patina on the lower obverse. Both sides display noticeable mattelike granularity with an overlay of bright, satiny luster. Census: 4 in 66 Red, 0 finer (5/17).
Ex: November Signature (Heritage, 11/2003), lot 5315; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2010), lot 108, where it brought $4,312.50.
