Indian Half Eagles
1911-D $5 MS62+ PCGS. CAC. One of the prime rarities among all of 20th century gold in Gem or finer grades, the 1911-D five dollar is also challenging in lesser Mint State conditions. As such, the dual awards of CAC endorsement and the PCGS Plus designation are of significant importance when evaluating the present coin.
This high-end MS62+ coin is vibrantly lustrous and sharply struck throughout both sides. The headdress feather detail alone is notable, but it is equally sharp on the eagle's plumage and across all of the less-noticed fine points of the design. Abrasions are few and exceedingly minor for the assigned grade. The eye appeal is formidable. Population: 4 in 62+, 58 finer. CAC: 28 in 62, 12 finer (5/17).
