Liberty Double Eagles
1876-CC $20 AU58 PCGS. CAC. Variety 4-A. This interesting variety shows what may be the top of a misplaced 8 in the denticle below the date. Die lines are also seen in the lower neck curls. The 1876-CC is the most frequently seen Carson City double eagle, and it is the natural choice for type purposes. The surfaces are medium orange-gold and there is significant mint luster remaining around the devices and within the recesses of the design. Sharply struck and minimally abraded.
