1875 25C MS66+ PCGS. Briggs Unlisted. Type Two reverse (narrow feet on A's). Reverse C in the Briggs reference matches this coin, but the obverse is not listed (with similarities to Obverse 5, a proof die). Dramatic rainbow iridescence occupies the borders on both sides of this Plus-graded Premium Gem circulation strike. Sharply struck, especially on the stars. Shades of ice-blue and ivory add eye appeal to the lustrous and frosted silver centers. With a mintage of nearly 4.3 million pieces, the 1875 can hardly be called a scarce date, but it is rare at the MS66 level with a Plus designation. Just five coins are numerically finer at PCGS. Population: 1 in 66+, 5 finer (5/17).
