Standing Liberty Quarters
1918-D 25C MS65 Full Head NGC. Essentially untoned with satiny surfaces that are particularly bright on the obverse and strongly detailed on all the critical high point areas. Several tiny contact marks are found on Liberty's gown, while the soft, frosted reverse is nearly flawless. Despite a fairly high production of more than 7 million pieces, the '18-D is scarce as a Gem and with full head definition. Census: 35 in 65 (1 in 65+) Full Head, 7 finer (5/17).
Ex: Santa Clara Signature (Heritage, 11/2001), lot 5644; Baltimore Signature (Heritage, 7/2003), lot 7091.
