1839-O 50C GR-5, High R.4 -- Altered Surfaces -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. GR-5 is one of the scarcer 1839-O Reeded Edge half dollar varieties. No Mint State examples are known, and in fact, AU Details coins are listed in the Condition Census due to the scarcity of even problem specimens. A die crack bisects the obverse from 7:30 to 12 o'clock. Slight high-point friction visits the well-struck design elements. Each side is deeply toned olive-gray with muted luster.
