Indian Eagles
1914 $10 MS64 PCGS. The strike is crisp on this near-Gem example of the elusive and seemingly undervalued eagle. Rather than granular and mattelike, the surfaces are satiny and extremely lustrous -- a departure for the 1914 Philadelphia issue. Rich, sun-gold color adds the final ingredient for outstanding eye appeal. Two tiny marks are noted near Liberty's eye and a few more are hidden in the eagle's wing, although they, too, are minor. A Choice example, perhaps poised for an even finer grade. PCGS reports just 53 numerically finer coins (5/17).
