Liberty Double Eagles
1899-S $20 MS64 NGC. CAC. The brakes go on at the MS64 level for the 1899-S, which is readily available through the MS63 grade but scarce in near-Gem condition. Any finer, the issue is extremely rare. This Choice example displays attractive orange-gold color and a tip-top strike to earn CAC endorsement. The surface quality is excellent with only a few grazelike abrasions but no heavy marks. NGC has certified just 12 numerically finer pieces (5/17).
