Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1922-S $20 MS63 PCGS. Twice as many double eagles were struck at San Francisco compared to Philadelphia in 1922, but as usual for the series, mintage is little indication of current availability. The 1922-S is very scarce in high grades. This well-defined twenty features a blend of green, rose, and wheat-gold hues, plus a few coppery alloy spots in the left obverse field and on the olive branch. A single mark of note appears under the eagle's leg.
