Vitellius (AD 69). AR denarius. NGC VG. Rome, July-December AD 69. VITELLIVS GER-MANICVS IMP, bare head of Vitellius right / CONCOR-[DIA P R], Concordia seated left, holding patera and cornucopia. RIC 66 (S) variant (legend begins with A). RSC 21 variant (same).BMCRE 1 variant (same).
Apparently an unrecorded variant lacking the usual "A" (for Aulus) at the point of the bust. Alternatively, a die break or fill could have filled in the "A" and produced the unusual "double fold" effect" visible on the imperial bust.
