Aelia Eudoxia (wife of Arcadius). Augusta, A.D. 400-404. Æ. 2.61 gm. 17 mm. Cyzicus mint. Her diademed and draped bust right crowned by Hand of God / Victory seated right on cuirass pointing to Chi-Ro. RIC X 103 (Eudoxia). Good Fine; attractive brown patina.
Several works suggest that Eudoxia was the true power behind the throne between A.D. 400-404, with Arcadius more concerned with his own piety than ruling the empire.
