Charles II gold "Elephant" 5 Guineas 1668 XF45 NGC, first bust with elephant hallmark below, VICESIMO edge, KM430.2, S-3329. An uncommon offering of this scarce type, moderately circulated but bathed in a faint reddish tone that is most appealing. The surfaces display handling and contact marks to be expected of a large gold coin in this certified grade along with a series of small scratches on the reverse in the field alongside the Scottish arms. Quite attractive overall.
