George I gold Guinea 1726 MS63 NGC, Royal mint, KM559.1, S-3633 (fifth, older bust), Fr-327. Older, laureate bust of King George right. Rev. Crowned shields in cruciform with date. Bright luster, with a bold strike and minor handling marks. An exceptional example of this conditionally rare Guinea issue. None have been certified finer by NGC. Only the second example we have seen in this condition, with the other sold in our 2015 New York Auction, Lot 31116, where it realized more than $18,000.
