1909 VDB 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-1102, MS66+ Red PCGS. The letters in LIBERTY are extra thick, and moderate doubling is evident on the date, but less so than for FS-1101. This is a glittering pumpkin-gold Premium Gem with copper, lavender, and mint-green iridescence. The strike shows softness around the rims but is good elsewhere. Population: 19 in 66 (3 in 66+) Red, 2 finer (6/17).
