1971 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS66+ Red PCGS. Noticeable die doubling appears on IN GOD WE TRUST and the date. This variety is rare in high Red grades, and the present coin is tied with one other as the finest. Subtle rose and cherry hues intrude upon mainly copper-orange luster. No carbon spotting is seen. The obverse is struck minutely off-center toward 10 o'clock with a very thin rim along that border and a thick rim at the opposite edge. Population: 3 in 66 (2 in 66+) Red, 0 finer (6/17).
