Seated Dimes
1888-S 10C F-112, R.3, MS64 PCGS. A recently discovered variety, Fortin-112 shows a level date and a well-centered mintmark. The reverse is rotated slightly counterclockwise. This is a semiprooflike Choice example struck from an early die stage with bold dentils and sharply struck devices. Die polish lines run diagonally across the obverse, visible with a lens. Faint golden-gray patina allows soft silver luster to shine through. Population (all Fortin varieties): 12 in 64, 13 finer (6/17).
