1867 25C PR66 PCGS. Briggs 2-B. When a good light shines on this lovely Premium Gem proof, considerable contrast appears between the reflective fields and nicely frosted devices, although the beautiful patina -- more so on the obverse -- is too deep for a Cameo designation. Electric blue prevails against daubs of pale violet and a crescent of iridescent orange and lemon-yellow closer to the rims on the obverse, while the reverse is largely pale violet with hints of blue and green. This coin shows evidence of die relapping in the form of brilliant areas on Liberty's rock and thinned-out lines in some of the shield stripes. This piece would make an excellent representative of the date or type in a nice collection of toned coins. Population: 4 in 66 (1 in 66+), 2 finer (6/17).
