1787 CENT Massachusetts Cent, Arrows in Left Talon, Ryder 3-G, W-6090, R.3, AU55 PCGS. CAC. The arrows are in the eagle's left talon, to the observer's right, on this and all other 1787 cent varieties with one rarely seen exception. This Choice AU example is a pleasing olive-brown specimen that shows microscopic surface roughness only when examined with a glass. There are also a number of raised die defects, especially on the obverses, that might be confused with roughness by the uninitiated. This is a pleasing and important example for a type set or specialized collection. Listed on page 61 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 8 in 55, 14 finer. CAC: 1 in 55, 7 finer (6/17).
