Colonials
1787 CONNCT Connecticut Copper, Muttonhead, Miller 1.2-C, W-2720, R.3, AU50 PCGS. This variety has long been known as the Muttonhead variety, and is also called the Topless Liberty variety for the bare-breasted Liberty on the reverse die, the only such occasion in American colonial coinage. While a few letters of the obverse legend are absent and the strike is less than perfectly centered, the eye appeal is superb. Strong cartwheel luster is present on the chocolate-brown surfaces with traces of iridescent overtones on the reverse. Listed on page 63 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 1 in 50, 3 finer (6/17).
